MachuPicchu.com is the Peru brand of Highland Adventures, the tour operator behind every trip on this site. We have planned complete Peru trips since 2006. Here is how we work, how we handle your money, and the support you have before and during your trip.
What we do
We plan complete trips built around the right Machu Picchu access for your dates, group, and pace, and arrange every piece of them: routing, hotels, transfers, guiding, and the entries your itinerary needs, handled as one whole. Every trip is planned, priced and booked by Highland Adventures, working with licensed local teams in Peru for services on the ground. What we sell is the complete trip, planned and overseen so nothing falls between the pieces.
Support during your trip
Before you travel you have a direct point of contact on our team, and your final documents include the support contacts for each part of the trip. Our in-country team is there to help as well, so you have someone close by for the things that come up on the ground, and someone to reach in English whenever you would rather not explain it twice.
Deposits and payment
Once you have chosen your trip we confirm availability with each hotel, train and permit before any money changes hands, and come back to you with what is held. You then reserve the trip with a deposit paid by credit card, which is what locks those holds in your name. The balance is due before you travel and is paid by bank transfer or Zelle, against a written plan with clear amounts and dates.
Changes and cancellations
The exact change and cancellation terms are set out in your written proposal before any payment, so nothing is a surprise. Some government tickets and permits are date-bound and non-refundable by the authorities themselves, and we tell you which parts of your trip carry that risk before you commit, rather than after.
