Everything between the airport and the ruins is arranged; you spend your energy on the places, not the logistics.

Sample itinerary
A starting shape, not a fixed plan. We tailor the days, pace, and hotels with you during planning.
- 1
Arrive in Lima
Welcome at the airport and private transfer to your hotel in Miraflores. No agenda tonight; settle in at sea level before the highlands.
- 2
Lima: city, Larco Museum, and the Water Circuit
A guided day through Lima's historic center, the Larco Museum's pre-Columbian collection, and the Magic Water Circuit in the evening, one of the city's best-loved sights.
- 3
Fly to Cusco, then the city and its ruins
Morning flight up to Cusco, then an easy-paced afternoon tour of the city with the ruins above it, Sacsayhuaman and Puka Pukara. The pace is deliberately gentle on your first day at altitude.
- 4
Sacred Valley: Pisac and Ollantaytambo
A full day in the valley at a kinder altitude: Pisac's market and terraces, lunch in the valley, and the fortress town of Ollantaytambo.
- 5
Machu Picchu
Train through the Urubamba gorge to Aguas Calientes and your guided exploration of the citadel on the confirmed circuit. Overnight below the site, so you are not racing a same-day return.
- 6
Huayna Picchu morning, then back to Cusco
An early optional hike up Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (limited entry, confirmed during planning), then the train and transfer back to Cusco.
- 7
Departure
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima and your onward connection.
Machu Picchu access
Circuit 2 (Classic)
This trip is built around the classic Machu Picchu viewpoint. We confirm the exact circuit, route, and entry time with you during planning and arrange the entry as part of your trip; nothing is left to chance at the gate.
We design and run your whole Peru trip around the right Machu Picchu access, with every entry confirmed as part of it.
Where you stay
The well-run standard tier we have used for years: Casa Andina Standard Miraflores in Lima, Casa Andina Standard Cusco Plaza in Cusco, and Casa Andina Standard Machu Picchu in Aguas Calientes, or similar. Chosen for location and reliability; easy to step up if you want more comfort.

Not sure this is the right trip for your group? The trip planner reads your dates, party, and pace, the route recommender picks the right circuit, and the AI specialist answers anything else. Or read how we work.
Common questions
- Is Machu Picchu entry included?
- Yes. We arrange your entry on the confirmed circuit as part of the trip.
- Why start in Lima?
- It is how we have always run this trip: flights connect through Lima anyway, a day at sea level makes the altitude easier, and the Larco Museum is the best introduction to what you will see in the mountains.
- Can we climb Huayna Picchu?
- Usually, yes. It has its own limited entry, so we confirm it for your dates during planning rather than promising it up front.
- Can we upgrade the hotels?
- Yes, hotel level is one of the main things that changes the price. Tell us what you want and we will quote it.
