Effective July 1st of 2017, the Peruvian government has decided to modify the hours of operations of Machu Picchu. There will be now two time slots to access the ruins. The first one from 6 AM to 12 PM and the second one from 12 PM to 5 PM. Note: Tickets need to be purchased separately for each session.
Access to the ruins will only be allowed as part of a 16 people group led by a certified guide provided by the park. Visitors will have to follow a set path and remain within marked areas.
The key objective of this changes is to protect the Sanctuary from so many generations to come can experience the magic of Machu Picchu.
