Permits for 2020 to hike the Inca Trail went on sale on October 1st of this year. Typically passes sell out about 8 months in advance. Early planning is key to secure the limited Inca Trail permits available for tourists.
In order to protect the famous Inca path, the Peruvian government has restricted the number of tourists to 500 per day within the trail. Over the years, the demand for Inca Trail permits has increased exponentially which has resulted in passes being sold out as early as 8 months in advance.
Permits have to be purchase with a passport and are not transferable or refundable.
